Bubble Wrapping

Here at Citymove, we use quite a bit of bubble wrapping. The biggest reason for this is to keep all of our customers' belongings safe and to make sure that they stay in the same condition from when they leave the pick-up address to when they arrive at the drop-off. We want your items to be safe from harm, and the bubble wrapping that we use ensures that that gets done.

But did you ever wonder what to do when the removalists leave and you still have a bit of bubble wrap sitting around and have no real use for it after the move? Bubble Wrap® is a brand created by the Sealed Air Corporation, an American company, in 1960. This means that the material that we all use as a stress-reliever has been around for just over 50 years.

It was originally created by accident. The creators, Al Fielding and Marc Chavannes, were trying to create textured wallpaper, but although that venture failed, in the process, they created Bubble Wrap®. Over the last 50 years, they have made the material better and better so that it could be used more than once. They can even create the Bubble Wrap® into any shape that you want, if you get it custom made.

On the website, www.bubblewrapfun.com there are different games to play and information about the brand. There are pictures of things that people have done with different uses of bubble wrap, and there is even a list of different things that you can do with bubble wrap that you usually don't think about. And this is for all of the people that have some extra bubble wrap laying around after a move.

Some of the best ones are as follows, all © Joey Green and Tim Nyberg:

Sweet Dreams: Sleeping while camping can be a real pain in the back, unless you are carrying a lightweight six-foot roll of Bubble Wrap® as a mat to place under your sleeping bag. Or fold a twelve-foot-long piece of Bubble Wrap® in half and duct tape the sides to make the padded sleeping bag of your dreams.

Pop-able Place Mats: Make Bubble Wrap® place mats. Guests can start popping the bubbles during lulls in the dinner conversation. You can also cut strips of Bubble Wrap® and tape them into circles for matching napkin rings.

Travelwrap: Travel light. Pack a roll or two of Bubble Wrap® in your suitcase or backpack so you can easily carry any breakable souvenirs you buy or accumulate along the way. Better yet, make your entire suitcase out of Bubble Wrap®, preventing baggage handlers and conveyor belts from inflicting any damage.

Bubble Wrap® Twister!: The same challenging game Twister with a Bubble Wrap® cover.

Bubble Wrap® Baby Matting: Improvise a baby changing mat. A sheet of Bubble Wrap® easily rolls up to fit in a baby bag and it's padded, too.

There are many other uses on the website, so if you feel like you have some leftover bubble wrapping from your move, you can go online and find a way that you can use the extra bubble. You can call Citymove on 1300 72 9994 to ask a bit more about our services and to book your move. Alternatively, you can use our online moving quotes site. You can get a move done as quickly and as carefully as possible and have a bit of extra bubble wrap to have some fun with when you're done!
